Put ripe figs into a pot (tub) for cooking preserves. Cook a syrup and pour it over figs. Leave to infuse for 1 day. Drain syrup into another pot, bring it to boil and simmer for 15-20 minutes, then pour it over figs and set aside for one more day. Following day put the pot with figs on the stove, bring it to boil, and cook until done, skimming foam from time to time.
