Sour Cherry Soup with Dumplings


600 g/1 lb 6 oz sour cherries
1 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs

Pit half of the cherries, mash the other half of the cherries. Add pits from the first half of the cherries to mashed cherries, cover with 4-5 cups of hot water, add sugar, bring to boil and strain.

Make a dough. Mix eggs with flour and add water until it all comes together. Roll the dough thinly and cut out circle shapes.  Put 1-2 pitted cherries in the middle of each circle and pinch the sides together.

Just before serving put cherry dumplings  into hot cherry broth and cook 5-10 minutes.
