Turnip Stuffed with Rice and Apples


150 g turnips
20 g rice
50 g apples
10 g sugar
1/2 egg
5 g flour
50 g milk
10 g butter

Peel and boil turnip until cooked. Meanwhile make milk sauce with flour, butter, and milk. Remove some of the inside of the turnip to give it a shape of a cup, and stuff with boiled rice mixed with grated apples, sugar, butter, and egg. Pour milk sauce over turnip and bake until browned. Drizzle with butter before serving.

This recipe is for patients with liver disease.

Turnips Stuffed with Farina


10 medium turnips
1/4 cup farina
1 cup milk
1 tbsp sugar
25 g/1 oz cheese
3 tbsp butter

Peel and wash turnips and add them to a pot with hot water. Cook until half-cooked. Scoop out the insides of the turnips and finish cooking it, then mash through a sieve, and mix with farina cooked in milk, sugar, and butter. Stuff turnips with prepared stuffing, put them into a well-oiled skillet, sprinkle with grated cheese, brush with melted butter and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.

Turnips can also be stuffed with meat stuffing.
